The Power of Choice Series

As we maneuver through the different stages of life we experience many different people, events, and decisions with each one having a serious impact on our “next”. Ironically, each person, event, and decision is based on our choice. We choose who we align ourselves with, associate with and those choices lead to events we choose to attend and those choices lead to decisions we make. In my personal opinion, choosing who we partner with is the most important choice we will ever make. While personal relationships are of extreme importance, our partnerships have the biggest impact on us. Who we choose to partner with in a relationship impacts our daily life. Who we choose to partner with in business impacts everything in our life.

Partnerships can make or break us personally and professionally and sometimes the most important partnerships are overlooked. Partnerships with doctors impact your health and quality of life, partnerships with attorneys impact your representation, partnerships with mechanics impact the care of your vehicles, partnerships with real estate agents impact your lifestyle and quality of life; however, most importantly – financial stability.

When we partner with a real estate agent, we are partnering with them, their company, their professional network. We are choosing who to align ourselves with, who to represent us and our best interest during buying, selling, and managing real estate. In my opinion, partnering with a real estate agent falls into the category of one of the most important partnerships that is overlooked. Did you know, most buyers and sellers don’t even research the agent they decide to work with. Many times an interested / prospective buyer sees a home online with sites such as Zillow and Realtor.com. They see a home and believe they are reaching out to the listing agent when actually the site is connecting them to an agent who has paid money to receive them as a lead. This is truly a whole conversation within itself; however, needless to say, one of the most important partnerships is established by a phone call that was paid for.

Welcome to my series, The Power of Choice, I am thrilled with the opportunity to provide professional insight on the power of choice, the power of knowledge and the power of association. Real estate consumers, are in a very interesting position… it is for the most part, historical – for the first time, consumers are being presented with and offered choice in how they market their property. I am looking forward to breaking down options/choices, fully explaining them, fully explaining representation, fully explaining negotiation and most importantly, fully explaining that real estate is so much more than finding homes online!
